ARA MEMBERS AND TRAINERS PROGRAM
OMM – ARA Observers Over the last 10 years OMM qualified several riders to operate as instructors and observers during the OMM - ARA workshops.
1. ARA Theory Presenters This level is open to riders who have been specially trained by ARA to deliver the official version (TR and EN) of the ARA Road Theory Lessons.
2. I.A.M. Observers To qualify for this level Riders must attend and pass C.A.T. workshop under the supervision of I.A.M. Senior Observers. The I.A.M. Observers can conduct ARA Theory and participate as Observers in ARA RoadCraft and ARA Road. I.A.M. They are the only ones who can qualify a rider in the ARA System. Observer qualification lasts for a period of four years subject to the riders conducting at least 10 hours of observation/training in 12 month period.
3. I.A.M. Senior Observers To qualify for this level Riders must pass special observation test/period under the supervision of I.A.M. officials. They can conduct CAT courses and qualify Observers.
The use of I.A.M. mention or the use of I.A.M. logo is regulated by the I.A.M. affiliation rules for international groups and it is monitored and enforced in Turkey by OMM. The Turkish Motorcycling Federation recognizes the ARA Rides as TMF Rallies and it endorses the System used for Observation.
ARA Qualification System Starting in 2008 the old ARA reporting system (Bronze, Silver and Gold) is replaced by a more specific grading of the skills applied and observed during each ride. We took the decision to adopt the “I.A.M. Riding Assessment Report Sheet” in order to eliminate any sense of competition among riders and to indicate that the observation is specifically related to one ride. In this way riders can get different grading –up or down- in different rides.
The chart below shows the elements of grading and the rate (from 1 to 4) to be applied to each one. The best competent performance in one given ride may score 20 points grade (1 time 20) while the worst possible results could be 80 (4 time 20). The grading will be reported on the ARA Carnet after the on-the-road ARA TMF Rallies.
